Juggling the role of Mum and Business Woman!

As a mum of three kids, a dog owner, a wife to my hubby for nearly 20 years and growing a business – there is not much time left in the day!

We are all in the same boat. Whether we are working full time, part time or managing a home full time, it all can become too much.

My saving grace is going away with my husband for a night in the city, to reconnect and enjoy a lovely dinner (cooked by someone else for a change!). I also love to get away with my girlfriends for a night to laugh, drink wine, eat cheese and talk through what is going on in life.

I love having one on one time with my kids – the teenager loves to eat and shop! The middle child loves a cafe and the third, loves to eat and visit Rebel.

I’ve also learnt many many many years ago to let go of perfection. Not that I was ever really a perfection, but I learnt to not stress if the washing was not done or the sheets were not changed for a week. I feel us as women really care about our home and put extra pressure on ourselves to have it all done. Where as a man, it could be left for a week and he would not bat an eyelid!

So my message today, is to be nicer to yourself. Take that time out and have a cup of tea, read your favourite mag, meet a girlfriend for coffee or indulge in the internet world of shopping. After all at the end of the day, we only have ourselves to blame when we do not put ourselves first!
